Unsure about where to celebrate New Years, the receptionist at our hotel said the riverside would be a good place. We had a few drinks in our hotel (a bottle of $4 wine, which is around £2… It wasn’t so bad with lemonade!) and headed out around 10pm to the Yarra River.
As midnight struck 11 tonnes of fireworks lit the skies to entertain the 500,000 people who were there to ring in the new year. Apparently wherever you were in the city you, if you could see the sky you could see the fireworks. It was definitely a new year to remember and has left us wondering where we will be seeing in next new year.
