Sydney

We took the train from wyee to Sydney on Christmas Eve, the journey took around 2 hours and cost a total of $14 each.

We arrived at central and hiked our way to our hotel, which was on the corner of Hyde park, and checked into our quadruple room. The room smelt damp and musky so I requested we be moved, and they obliged willingly as the hotel wasn’t full.

We spent our first evening in Sydney wandering down to see Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, people watching around the harbour and taking in the views.

Walking back to our hotel we stumbled upon a huge Christmas tree, which we decided as it was nearly midnight we would wait around to ring in Christmas surrounded by other tourists and locals, under the glittering lights and illuminations in the square.

Our time in Sydney was pretty brief, and mostly occupied by Christmas and Boxing Day, which have blog posts of their own.

On December 27th we wandered down to darling harbour, and watched the world go by eating our leftover Christmas Day picnic (we managed to make it last 3 days!) before we caught our flight to Melbourne.
